Being a U.S. citizen, will I be in danger living in Venezuela?
My husband is considering an analyst position in Venezuela, and I'm a little concerned about the political climate of the country. I need insight on the personal safety of a U.S. citizen living there for an extended period of time. The money's really great, but if Hugo Chavez wants me dead, maybe it's not worth it.

No, you will be fine. Plenty of US people live in Venezuela

I don't see a real problem. People in South America sometimes hate the United States but like Americans. I think Hugo is a lot of hot air. Do yourself a favor and talk to someone who has actually been there.
