In about the early to mid 1900s my great great grandparents left italy with their 6 boys and 1 girl. The father and one of the boys (possibly the mother too) came to Brooklyn, NY, while the other 5 brothers and 1 sister went to Venezuela. The dad and brother who stayed here were: Salvatore Spatafora (born mid to late 1800s)(died about 1952 or 1954 I think and I have a picture of him) Salvatore Spatafora JR (born 1902 or 1903) If the mother stayed here I don't know her name Anyway, the 5 brothers and 1 sister who stayed in venezuela became rich and owned wine vineyards, they're prob. all dead now but their kids and grandkids I think are still alive. I suggest you first see if you can get in contact with a relative there in Venezuela. I did a simple white pages search and found one Angelo Spatafora w/ a phone number (link below). It doesn't seem likely that the Italian Name Spatafora would be too common of a name there, unless lots of Spataforas' were migrating there. If this doesn't yield any findings, you could then search Immigrant Passenger Ship Lists and other helpful genealogy sites like Cyndi's List too track down specific names, dates, and locations. You might be able to track down info in NY; the relative that came to NY for surgery. I also located what appears to be a site with info specifically of Italians families in Venezuela. It also seems that Ancestory.com as info on your family. You can use Genealodocious to get to these various sites I've mentioned. Let me know what you find too?
