How well do you want to live? There are people in Colombia living on less that $200 per month. You might not be comfortable living like that. In my 6 trips to Colombia, I found the costs to be a little less expensive than in the US for similar things. Some things were more expensive (cars, gas) and some were less expensive (taxis, food in the grocery store). Venezuela may be different because of the socialist government in place. I have no personal experience with this country.

well i live here on vzla. you can livee veeeery comfortable with 500$ per month beacause the dls here are expensive and you sell them for 5000Bs/1Dlr .the gas iss veeery cheep. the best place to livee(coast) is in margarita island, is very pretty, beatiful beaches & buildings, it's not so expensive. but you have to search better information or consult with a traveler agent (:
