what is the best mini sail boat a sunfish or a laser?
im a 13 year old boy & i live in venezuela and i complete my sail boat course and i choosing a mini boat sometimes they tell me that choose a laser boat or a sunfish, i saw both are good but i don't know what to choose i need help

Both are excellent little boats. Furthermore, both are an awful lot of fun. If you don't have a personal preference, (which many people do) then, if I were you, I would make my decision based on the best price. They are indeed both great little boats and loads of fun. Enjoy!

both are good boats. the advantage to the laser is that you have a choice of different sized rigs dependent on your size and weight. you can start out with a laser radial sail rig and then move up to the standard laser rig as you gain experience and size. more info on the laser http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laser_(dinghy) hope this helps

I agree with both the previous answers, but I would add one further point. And I have no axe to grind, since neither of them are my personal choice of boat. At your age, and assuming that you are keen, your skills will be developing fast; so will your size and weight; all that is a natural part of growing up. The likelihood is that sooner rather than later you will want to start racing, and as your skills and physique continue to develop you may well want to race to any level right up to the very top. The laser can offer you stimulating racing, and stimulating competition in well established fleets, at all levels from ordinary club level right up to World Championship in a top international class. The Sunfish can't; period.
