Can I enter another country without a visa if I'm a US citizen

Can I enter another country without a visa if I'm a US citizen?
I am a United States citizen by naturalization who use to live in Venezuela. I'm planning a trip to Brazil in January and am wondering if I need a visa to get in. I'm venezuelan but hold US citizenship.

You need your passport.

Each country has their own requirements for US citizens to visit. You may visa most countries in Europe without a visa. Brazil requires a visa to visit. See http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1072.html for details.

A passport and visa are required for U.S. citizens traveling to Brazil for any purpose. Brazilian visas must be obtained in advance from the Brazilian Embassy or consulate nearest to the traveler's place of residence.

If you're entering Brazil with a U.S. passport and a visa. Brazil has a reciprocity visa requirement meaning if a nation requires that Brazilians to enter their territory, citizens of that country will need a visa to enter Brazil. They also charge the same amount that a Brazilian citizen needs to pay for a visa. U.S. citizens will have to pay US$131 for a Brazilian tourist visa because the U.S. charges Brazilians the same amount for a U.S. tourist visa. here's a surprise for you, you are no longer venezuelan since you have to renounce allegiance to your former country of citizenship when becoming a naturalized u.s. citizen, but yeah you may need a visa depending on which country you are visiting. some countries allow u.s. citizens to enter without a visa if it is just for stay under 30 days some for longer periods. you should start by visiting that country's website to inquire about visa information.
