Managing Anxiety and Depression at work

Managing Anxiety and Depression at work?
I had suffered panic attacks and depression years ago. The first time It happened I did not say anything at work. I manage to survive with my symptoms In a stressfull environment. After being OK, last year I again suffered from depression and anxiety. This time the symptoms were so strong that I had to tell my boss. I live in Venezuela (South America) and in this country there is not much known about this diseases. At the beginning my Boss was really understanding and caring, then she started to blame the depression for my bad work. At the end I had to quit the job before getting fired. What is curious is that the first time I got depression, I did not tell my boss. She always looked at my work as being excellent and I even got promoted. The second time I got depression I was discriminated. What do you think about it? What do you suggest I should have done? Are there any laws that protects us people?

Honey you need to go get medicated. I use to have panic attacks and anxiety as well and I went to my doctor 2 years ago and have been medicated ever since. Now mind you, my husband had passed away in our home and I was the one that found him. However, I was a loon before that happened. So I knew that was the straw that broke the Camel's a*s! Now I have a great job. People love me. If that's what it takes to make your income, for me so be it! I take medicine for my high blood pressure and my nerves. Because girlfriend I will make the 6:00 news and go straight the f*ck to jail if I'm not medicated. Now if you're one of those people who claims "Oh I never take any kind of medicine". "Not even an aspirin". Then your butt is in trouble! Get it together girlfriend because no one is going to do it for you except your physician! PS: Damn Yoga! Yoga don't do nothing but stretch your limbs and keep your eyes closed! I'm LMAO! Sorry girlfriend below!

I am not sure about laws in your country.I have the same as you. I have anxiety attacks(panic attacks) ofter. Of course anxiety and depression work hand in hand. People seem to discriminate when they are uneducated. When you have a disorder as we do people think that you are stupid,or incompetent. It is discrimination and you should check into it,maybe get some legal advice. I am finding now that here in america people are becoming a little educated on this matter. When i first tried to get help the doctors thought i was looney. I would get sweaty palms and i couldn't breathe, there was a while when i could not even leave my house.I am not cured and never will be.I am currently taking klonopin and imiprimine to manage my life. I still have to have every where i go planned and i have to be familiar with my surroundings every where i go. I really think you should consider getting legal advice and i wish you luck with your anxiety and depression. You are not alone.
